Learning a language helps us to effectively communicate and understand others. In order to bring the students closer to literature and its universal appeal, the English Literary Week was celebrated at Bal Bhavan International School, Dwarka from December 3 to December 7, 2018 with a lot of zeal and excitement. A plethora of activities were conducted to assist students deepen their understanding of the English Language and refine the language skills. The week kicked off with the dazzling opening assembly by our Step I kids where students participated in Group Poem Recitation and had given an applaudable dance performance. ‘Safari Ride’ competition was conducted for Class III wherein the students displayed their competencies enacting as different animals and they spoke amazing and unknown facts about their favourite animal characters. Class IV kids exhibited their creativity by translating the infamous Bollywood dialogues into English language with the help of props and attractive costumes. Class V pupils gave their introductions in an extremely unique manner. Further, in the next round, as Quizzards, Class V learners explored the grammar trove, exhibited their spelling competencies and the selected students played an extempore round wherein they were asked the situation-based questions and the best ones were crowned as Mr and Ms Literary Week respectively. Finally, the week ended with the splendid performances by Class II kids in the closing assembly who clarified the concept of tenses in a playful manner. In conclusion, English Literary Week was truly purposeful with a panorama of edifying activities providing a more holistic approach to learn English Language.
